Dr. David Lew is a general surgeon who emphasizes the importance of open and honest communication with his patients. "It is so important to have honest conversations so we can create a plan of care that will provide the best results for patients," he said. "I make it a point to listen to everything my patients have to say so they know I am fully vested in their care." Dr. Lew practices general surgery with a particular interest in minimally invasive and robotic hernia surgery. His practice includes abdominal wall hernia, gallbladder, foregut, intestinal, skin and soft tissue, perianal and more. Born and raised in Utah, Dr. Lew moved to Arizona after finishing his undergraduate education. He earned his medical degree from Midwestern University and then completed a five-year general surgery residency in Queens, New York. From there he completed a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive surgery at St. John Hospital in Detroit, where he received additional advanced laparoscopic and robotic training in foregut, colon and hernia surgeries. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. When he is not working, Dr. Lew enjoys playing sports and spending time with his family. He is fluent in Spanish.
