Dr. Avory McHenry is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who grew up in Alabama and now calls Arizona home. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning a Master of Science in biotechnology, followed by her medical degree at Meharry Medical College. Dr. McHenry completed her OB/GYN residency at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix. She chose to specialize in women’s health to address health care disparities, ensuring everyone has access to quality care. Dr. McHenry’s practice focuses on preventive women’s health, cervical cancer screening, family planning, prenatal care, gynecologic health and menopause. She values building strong, collaborative relationships with her patients by taking extra time to educate them on their health, which promotes informed decision-making. As a minority female physician and mother of two, she feels her experiences make her more relatable to her patients, helping her connect on a deeper level.
