As a provider, Dr. Austin Allen is committed to approaching his patients with open communication and empathy. "Every patient encounter I have is kept conversational," he says. "I use active listening to hear my patients’ concerns and questions maintaining an open environment so patients can comfortably express their concerns and preferences with me." Dr. Allen emphasizes that he "strives to provide clear and accessible information about diagnoses, treatment options and procedures to empower my patients to make informed decisions about their health." With a passion for women’s health, Dr. Allen works to address maternal health disparities and manage reproductive health issues. His approach to medicine was profoundly influenced by a high-risk surrogate pregnancy during his residency. He reflects, "That patient was saved, and their story significantly impacted me. Every patient has a unique story, and medicine does not always follow the textbooks." Dr. Allen is originally from Grayson, Kentucky, with a background in biology and public health. After completing his medical degree at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and his residency at the University of Kentucky in Bowling Green, Dr. Allen and his family moved to Tucson after falling in love with the area’s warm climate, vibrant culture and outdoor activities. Outside of treating his patients, Dr. Allen’s hobbies include playing piano, reading psychological thrillers, and baking.
